On 2nd of November 2023, president William Ruto, Deputy President H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, EGH, Cabinet Secretaries Alice Wahome, Salim Mvurya, Mombasa Governor Abdullswamad Sheriff Nassir, MPs and MCAs attended the affordable Housing Financing that will ensure that ordinary people have access to affordable mortgage. 
According to president Ruto, low-income earners will pay an interest rate of as low as 3 per cent a year — as compared to the market rate of 18 per cent annually — to own a house. This provision of decent shelter will expose Kenyans to opportunities and better health.
During the ground-breaking of 2,000 unit-Mzizima Affordable Housing Phase the 1 and 1,400 unit-Buxton Point Affordable Housing Phase 2, Mvita, Mombasa County. The president also handed over the Buxton Point Affordable Housing Phase 1 to its new owners.
