President Ruto leads the signing of County Allocation Revenue Bill 2023.
The County Allocation Revenue Bill, 2023 provides for the allocation of funds to the counties from the national government. This allocation is based on a formula that takes into account factors such as population, poverty levels, land area, and development needs.
The formula is designed to ensure that counties with higher levels of need receive a larger share of the funds. Earlier today on 30th June, 2023, president Ruto leads has Signed the County Allocation of Revenue Bill and Equalization Fund Appropriation Bill 2023, State House, Nairobi.

The Equalisation Fund Appropriation Bill, 2023 provides for the allocation of funds to counties that are considered to be marginalized or disadvantaged. This fund is designed to address historical injustices and imbalances in development by providing resources to counties that have been left behind in terms of development.
The signing of these Bills is a significant milestone in the devolution process in Kenya. Devolution has been a key policy priority for the government since the adoption of the new constitution in 2010. The aim of devolution is to bring government closer to the people and to ensure that resources are allocated in a more equitable and efficient manner.
